Quality Assurance
Quality control
begins the moment raw materials arrive at the AMSOIL manufacturing
facility. Prior to acceptance, every component undergoes rigorous lab
testing to assure that it meets the rigid AMSOIL standards. Testing
continues at every stage of manufacture culminating in final testing of
finished products before packaging. Since all AMSOIL products are
manufactured in Superior, Wisconsin, consistency is assured whether the
product is delivered to your plant or anywhere around the world.

Hydraulic Oils
 Petroleum
lubricants are refined from crude oil, a natural substance pumped from
the earth and containing diverse chemicals. Some of the chemicals in
petroleum oil are detrimental to the lubrication process and to the
lubricated components. For example, some petroleum oil chemicals invite
oxidation in high temperature operations. Oxidation quickly destroys
lubricant integrity
Synthetic lubes,
on the other hand, are not refined from crude oil, but constructed from
pure chemicals selected for their ability to lubricate. The purity of
synthetic lubricant basestocks significantly reduces lubricant
oxidation, which promotes the ability of synthetics to be used in higher
temperatures applications than conventional lubes may be and promotes
their ability to be used for extended drain intervals. In fact, AMSOIL
synthetic lubricants are specifically formulated for extended drain
intervals.

Biodegradable Hydraulic Oil (ISO
46)
 AMSOIL Biodegradable Hydraulic Oil exhibits
high biodegradability and low aquatic toxicity, along with superior
oxidative stability, low temperature performance and outstanding
results in laboratory and extended duration pump testing. It
contains anti-oxidants that ensure long oil life and foam inhibitors
that promote problem-free operation. It is hydrolytically stable and
ideal for use where water contamination is a problem.
Carefully designed additives help prevent pump
wear and protect critical components from rust. AMSOIL Biodegradable
Hydraulic Oil meets the stringent Vickers M-2950-S and I-286-S

Oil Filters
Donaldson Endurance™ oil filters are made with
premium advanced synthetic media technology that results in fibers
that have a controlled size, shape and smaller fiber diameter.
The controlled media manufacturing process
allows Donaldson Endurance™ oil filters to deliver both higher dirt
holding capacity at the same pressure differential and higher
efficiency compared to conventional cellulose filters. The synthetic
media also has better durability with usage.
Throughout the service life of a cellulose
filter, hot oil will degrade the resins that bind the media. The
synthetic media technology uses a wire screen backing pleated with
the media, resulting in superior strength.

Donaldson® Endurance™
Air Filters
 Donaldson
Endurance™ Air Filters with exclusive nanofiber technology offer
longer engine life, longer filter life, initial efficiency up to
99.99 percent and five times more capacity.
The nanofiber technology causes submicron
contaminants to be held on the surface layer of smaller fibers. This
filtration characteristic is only possible with this new type of air
filtration technology. In on-highway applications, where the
contaminant is primarily submicron in size, Donaldson Endurance
filters cause less restriction than conventional filters with
cellulose media. The smaller interfiber spaces of nanofiber
technology have a higher efficiency and capture more contaminant.
The following illustration may help visualize
these phenomena: Imagine two filters, a chain link fence and a
mosquito net, with a tennis ball being a dirt particle. As you may
have observed, a tennis ball will fit quite nicely into an opening
of a chain link fence, but will obstruct the hole almost 100%. Now
imaging the same tennis ball covering a mosquito net. The tennis
ball, at the point of contact with the netting, will obstruct much
less filter area than the chain link fence example. In fact, air
will flow around the tennis ball all the way to the point of
contact. It will take many more particles to obstruct the netting
surface area than the chain link fence.

Air Filters
Donaldson air
filter media is made up of specially formulated fibers designed to
trap contaminants such as dust, dirt and soot before they reach the
engine. The media is pleated to maximize the filter surface area and
placed between rigid liners to provide stability and. support. A
high quality filter seal is applied or built-in to the open end of
the filter to prevent dirty air from bypassing the filter. Donaldson
has developed an extensive range of air filter media to provide the
best engine protection no matter what the operating conditions. For
example, using the same particle size contaminant, for every eight
grams of dirt passed through a Luber-finer filter, the Donaldson
filter passed only two grams.

WIX
WIX is
well-known around the world for its innovative filtration products
for the automotive and light truck market. Founded in 1939, the
Gastonia, N.C., company earned acclaim during World War II when it
created an oil filter out of a paper tube, wooden plugs and yarn
when steel was in short supply. In 1954 WIX created the
revolutionary spin-on oil filter that was eventually adopted as
original equipment on most vehicles.

 AMSOIL synthetic greases are formulated for component lubrication and protection in normal and high-stress conditions, such as high speeds, high temperatures, heavy loads and wet applications.
